In this episode of the In With the New, Avril Tomlin-Hood speaks with Kevin Martin, Co-founder and CEO of unspun. Kevin outlines unspun’s mission to reduce global human carbon emissions by 1% by addressing overproduction and waste in the fashion industry.
unspun is tackling the problem of fashion industry carbon emissions in two ways: They have invented the world’s first 3D weaving technology that can turn yarn into clothing in minutes, realizing zero-waste production and circular reuse. This eliminates the need for mass production and long-distance transportation by localizing manufacturing, opening the door for on-shore and on-demand production.
They have also created an on-demand zero-inventory line of custom-fit jeans bespoke to your body dimensions. By only making what they sell, unspun can eliminate overproduction and reduce manufacturing waste.
