Our story

As dedicated digital marketers, we’ve always loved helping brands drive results, but didn’t want to do so at the expense of things that we care greatly about – people, planet and animals.

So boa was born of the belief that we can apply our valuable expertise in digital marketing to effect positive change – we want to improve the world by empowering consumers to make more sustainable choices.

We do this by partnering exclusively with companies whose products and practices align with the shared ethos that sustainability is fundamental to long-term business success – yours and ours.

Avril Tomlin-Hood

Founder & CEO

Avril is on a mission to apply her extensive knowledge of all things advertising for the good of the planet. She brings 15 years of experience working across multiple business categories. When not overseeing the success of integrated media campaigns or dusting up on her leadership skills, you can find her walking with her rescue pup or trying out a new plant-based recipe.

James Riley

Senior Advisor, Clean Capitalism

James is an entrepreneur and digital marketer with 20 years of experience in multiple business categories. He is the Chairperson and Founder of Kumu, an impact-driven strategy and design agency. He is CEO and Founder of Lightspark, a software platform that helps city, utility and finance leaders reach their Net-Zero Home emissions reduction goals.

Pamela Gareau

Director of Omnichannel Solution

Pam is a seasoned marketing professional with over 25 years of integrated media buying experience. She was responsible for creating “Response Media” divisions for Cossette Communications (1999) and MacClaren MRM (2006). She’s developed and managed omnichannel campaigns for some of the largest brands in North America, including BMO, TELUS and World Vision.
