Misfits Market is dedicated to reducing the 16 billion tons of food waste in the United States by sourcing products that would otherwise go unsold. The food comes from 550 active suppliers, including farmers and packaged food vendors. Operating on a direct-to-consumer e-commerce model, customers create an account and shop for the available food options, and the food is shipped to their doorsteps ready to be used for meals. Misfits Market also strives to be transparent with consumers by explaining why certain products from vendors are prone to waste and end up as options on the site.
